Mk1 has served a lot of riders since 2013, has multiple winnings under its belt with rider legends like Pal Anders Ullevalseter and Stefan Svitko. No unit has come back to our premises, and Joakim Lunbdy, our crash tester has finished ECO Race after a crashed unit which, even if crashed, performed flawlessly. Our first RB holder went through different versions (A1-A3) and we now feel its time to lead the way to the future. The new version, Mk2, which will be released soon will have a composite flexible shell, still guaranteed for the life of the product, new magnetic transmission, lighter internals and even smarter design. High impact strength shell
Mk1’s shell is virtually indestructible! The first Roadbook in the market with a patented, impact proof shell. Made from UV stable material, specifically developed for this purpose in collaboration with HDB and NTLaserdesigns.gr, it will spring back to its original shape even after heavy impacts. Combined with the magnetic transmission, which can take axial, radial and tangential misalignments, you have a roadbook that is very unlikely to let you down even after a crash!
No more water dramas! The only roadbook available today which is protected to the highest degree from the elements. Thanks to the ”bathtab” design, high quality gaskets and seals and heavy duty metallic cable glands, this unit will stay clean from dust and water ! And we have put it to through a series of tests to prove that it will even operate underwater. Rare Earth Magnetic transmission, guaranteed for life
A new breed of roadbook transmission. A patented, rare earth magnetic transmission ensures smooth operation without compromising speed and stability. Even if the assembly gets damaged or the distance between the transmission pulleys changes, these special magnets guarantee that the torque is transmitted through a thin air gap. Axial, radial and tangential misalignments are handled exceptionally well. Mechanical brakes ensure that the paper will not rotate unintentionally while riding rough terrain. Therefore no re-adjustments needed, resulting in safer riding!
The largest capacity roadbook holder available today. Racers asked for it, we made it! Enormous capacity of up to 92 pages of A5. To aid riders to choose where to cut the scroll, if it is larger than 92 pages, we even created graphs to check and see where approximately you have to cut it! Days with multiple legs? No problem! You can carry a spare shaft preloaded with the next scroll and change shafts in less than a minute. Choice of LED colours, with dual led strips
Rally computers come with different lighting these days, and to make sure your eyes get a treat, you can now choose from Green, Amber or Blue! Special components on the PCB ensure that the lighting is controlled and does not blind the rider. The only RB holder in the market with dual LED strips to ensure an evenly lighted paper. LEDs are included as standard in the unit, so no hidden costs!
Hi-torque, hi-speed motor
The heart of our roadbook holder! It is important to know when to service your navigation equipment. therefore we went a step further in this area too. Outstanding performance with 600 hours lifetime! That is approximately 2000 racing days with a 40mm roll ! Rare earth magnets and metallic gears ensure the motor will not let you down!
Hybrid bearings in rotating joints
Hybrid ball bearings with stainless steel rings and races combined with ceramic, Zirconia or Silicon carbide balls in the outer and cartridge rotating joints. Dual rubber seals ensure that the inner parts remain as clean as possible from debris. Ceramic balls have the ability to run completely dry. You can even open them, wash them and put them back! Why hybrid ? Because they are maintenance free, they can run dry, they can be washed and cleaned with water and they can operate even if sand penetrates their seals. They will continue to operate until you clean them. Having bearings also means that friction is minimised in all joints, so the unit can operate smoothly, allowing the riders to focus on racing.
Temperature Limits (-20deg C to +65deg C)
All the materials in the unit will stay operational until -20deg Celcius. This unit is made to cross the Andes, the winter, at night! The transmission is designed in such a way to self protect the o-rings from low temperature, while the cables are chosen based on their environmetal specifications. Nothing is left to chance! Magnetic transmission is built to withstand the hottest environments in the world and has been tested in Dakar with ambient temperatures close to 50degC. Combined with the dry, hybrid, bearings, this unit will never give up!
